Today’s year-ender blog casts an eye over my gaming habits during 2020…
My total titles played was not much different from 2019, but in terms of hours invested, the winners there would be Call of Duty Modern Warfare: Warzone and older games The Division 2 and Star Trek Online. What with lockdown life putting a damper on IRL get-togethers, I set up a regular gaming evening with some of my friends, and we gravitated toward the team-playable titles we all had in common. By far, Warzone led the pack, with our favourite being games of ‘Plunder’ on the Verdansk map while we chatted over comms and I’ve got to say, its helped us all stay positive.
On a personal level, my single-player gaming was a mixed bag – I had fund completing the Warlords of New York campaign for The Division 2, the Star Wars Battlefront II campaign and chilled out with Cloudpunk – but Watch Dogs Legion gets my favourite game of the year. Low points were not getting to start in on Cyberpunk 2077 as hoped (prediction: this will be my time sink for the New Year) and a game that I won’t name, but which now holds my record for shortest time between installation and deletion.
