A question I often get asked is “When did you become a writer?” I can point back to the first novel I had published back in 2001 and say “Right there” but the truth is I’ve been writing since I was in my teens. I started with short fiction in English classes and I nursed a desire to be a professional storyteller for years before the opportunity to do it for real was presented to me.
I’ve been a voracious reader all my life, and books are an important part of my personal landscape; shelves of them fill my house, and I always have a book on the go. Having the opportunity to write my own books and have them go out into the world is, without doubt, the greatest feeling.
My original fiction – including my Marc Dane thrillers and the Sundowners steampunk westerns – appear below under the “FICTION” tab, and you can also find a handful of my “NON-FICTION” writing as well.
I’ve been able to write in fictional universes that have given me great pleasure over the years – in the book trade we call this “TIE-IN FICTION”, and it covers novelizations and original works set in existing franchises from TV, movies, games and more.
