Ever since I wrote NOMAD, the first novel in my Marc Dane series of action thrillers, readers have told me that the visual style and scope of the books would be a perfect fit for a screen adaptation – and I don’t disagree!
Over the past few years, I’ve had a fair few discussions with a different production companies about taking Marc’s adventures beyond the page, but we’ve never quite found the right connection. That’s about to change.
As of today, I can officially say that the movie rights for NOMAD have been optioned by Capstone Pictures for development as a feature film, with the potential to bring not just the first book in the series to the big screen, but the rest of the novels as well!

So what exactly does this mean?
In simple terms, Capstone have paid for an “option” – that’s the right to put together a production package with a view to adapting NOMAD into a movie – so they’ll take it to actors, screenwriters and directors, and get investors interested in the property.
And if all goes well, a studio will come on board and we are off to the races.
As you might imagine, I am quite excited about this! Capstone have a great reservoir of experience and knowledge, with thrillers like The Guilty and the forthcoming Kandahar and Silent Night on their slate, and a team of producers with credits that include high-octane action series like The Expendables and the Fallen movies.
But I also want to stress that we are at a very early stage here – there’s still a lot that can change, and experience has taught me that things can happen or not happen in an instant. Nothing is guaranteed until you see a poster on the wall of your local multiplex or in the grid of your favourite streaming service! We have a long way to go before actors are cast (although please feel free to speculate about who you might like to see as the leads!) or a director is attached and so on – but rest assured as soon as I have some more news to drop, I will!
